Has anyone finally gotten to the point where they just cannot put up with it anymore? They see the detriments, how it's affecting their lives, their relationships, minimizing communication--turning their social skills into shallow, "deep" and first impressionistic modes of thought rather than a realization of the true nature of change and socio-perceptional comprehension?
Perhaps not in those words precisely, but Facebook will torment your time until it is much, much too late, and by that time you won't see yourself leaving.
But for those of you brave few who dare to venture from the beast you will find YOU CANNOT ESCAPE. They provide you with a false route--a "deactivation" of your account, they say--but it is nothing less than a fallacy. After taking you through a guilt trip of saddening imagery (a sample of profile pictures from the friends you shall be leaving behind!) they will require you to take a survey, asking you why you would possibly leave such a commitment of time and life. What else could you be doing? Advancing your life? Becoming successful? They are beyond confused.
When you finally pass the final test (you must stand strong, else you will surely fall) you will be left with a Facebook account that is exactly as you left it, for all your friends to see, with all your photos, wall posts and videos intact. And worst of all? To "reactivate" your account all you must do is sign back in, literally as simply as you would log on to an "activated" account. All you carry with you when you walk away is the knowledge that you walked away.
However, there is another way; a way to truly end the tyranny once and for all. However, it requires branching away from the open book. One source is that of a group within the disease; a noble cause standing against the very matrix it cannot see it's way out of.
For those of you brave enough, click on this link to once and for all delete your account.
